Stream Restoration on Sleeping Dog Ranch

Stream restoration work was completed on the Sleeping Dog Ranch during the fall of 2008. Before and after pictures appear to the left. The project was a success as stated by a Trout Headwaters case study. The results from the report stated the following: The final design resulted in restoration and enhancement of nearly six acres of wetland by dip-only excavation; restoration of 4,500 linear feet of Cebolla Creek; and construction of 4,000 linear ft. of new stream channel to restore an appropriate and stable geomorphology. Normal geomorphic functions including sediment transport, pool formation, and nutrient transport.
