Robb Nelson joins Live Water Properties and will be assisting buyers and sellers with their ranch real estate needs.

Robb has farming, ranching and the outdoors in his blood. Raised in South Dakota he has always been an avid outdoorsman. His family has a long history in the livestock, horse and farming business.

Robb attended the University of Texas on a football and track scholarship. After an injury shortened attempt at a football career, he went to St. Mary’s University College of Law where he earned his law degree. As Chief Operating officer for Integrity First Management, Robb represented and negotiated multi-million dollar contracts for professional athletes and musicians.

In his professional career he has worked with Anthony Munoz, Mark Schlereth, Rich Gannon, Tim Wakefield, Country Singers Garth Brooks, Craig Morgan, Gary Morris, John Michael Montgomery and many others. He has represented clients in contract negotiations, charitable planning, marketing and property issues, including conservation easements. Robb’s extensive experience and connections with high wealth individuals is extremely valuable for buyers and sellers of great property.

Utilizing his legal experience and negotiation skills, Robb expanded his resume by beginning a career in ranch real estate. Focusing on high end hunting and fishing properties, Robb has assisted buyers and sellers as an attorney and broker for the past four years and has been involved with numerous multi-million dollar ranch sales since 2005. Robb has successfully marketed numerous farms, ranches and recreational real estate properties. As an attorney, Robb has been an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association on property matters. His legal background is crucial in educating clients on conservation easements, transactional issues, contracts and other complex property issues.

He has extensive experience, contacts & knowledge of the hunting & fishing industry having worked with the NWTF, the NRA, Mathews, Hunters Specialties, Mossy Oak, Ruger, Beretta, the Outdoor Channel, Versus and many other companies. Robb has hunted & fished all over the country. He is an avid bow hunter and is on the Pro Staffs of Mossy Oak, Hunter’s Specialties and Mathews Bows. He has appeared on numerous TV shows including The World of Beretta, Driven 24/7, Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, Tejas Adventures and others.
He is also tirelessly devoted to the charity he and his wife created in honor of their late son Hunter. Less than a year old when he was diagnosed with a rare brain disorder called Sturge-Weber Syndrome, Hunter’s disease was not supposed be terminal, however, there was no prognosis and no cure. As a result, Robb and his wife, Wendy, started Hunter’s Dream for a Cure, a charitable foundation that helps raise money for Sturge-Weber and other neurological diseases. Funding from the foundation helped launch the Sturge-Weber Clinical Research Center at Johns Hopkins Hospital, the first center of its kind in the U.S.
They are very active in “Hunters Dream for a Cure” a charity named after their late son Hunter who died in 2005 at age 5 1/2. The charity raises money for children with neurological disorders and special needs children. www.huntersdream.org

Stream restoration work was completed on the Sleeping Dog Ranch during the fall of 2008. Before and after pictures appear to the left. The project was a success as stated by a Trout Headwaters case study. The results from the report stated the following: The final design resulted in restoration and enhancement of nearly six acres of wetland by dip-only excavation; restoration of 4,500 linear feet of Cebolla Creek; and construction of 4,000 linear ft. of new stream channel to restore an appropriate and stable geomorphology. Normal geomorphic functions including sediment transport, pool formation, and nutrient transport. Completion of this project actively benefits the health of aquatic and terrestrial resources on the property and also benefits water quality and floodplain function for downstream and neighboring properties.
