Live Water friend, Steve Leisman, left Jamaica Bay one day in November in search of bass. Because the bass were not cooperating, they switched gears and headed out into the ocean after hearing about a school of Bluefin tuna in the area. This tuna was caught on a 20lb. bass rod. After roughly 3 hours, Steve was able to bring the fish in.
Stream restoration work was completed on the Sleeping Dog Ranch during the fall of 2008. Before and after pictures appear to the left. The project was a success as stated by a Trout Headwaters case study. The results from the report stated the following: The final design resulted in restoration and enhancement of nearly six acres of wetland by dip-only excavation; restoration of 4,500 linear feet of Cebolla Creek; and construction of 4,000 linear ft. of new stream channel to restore an appropriate and stable geomorphology. Normal geomorphic functions including sediment transport, pool formation, and nutrient transport. Steamboat Springs, CO - John Muir has officially joined the Live Water Properties team and will be assisting buyers and sellers with their ranch real estate needs.
John Muir grew up in Michigan, and developed his love for the outdoors while hunting deer and upland birds during his teenage years. After earning his accounting degree from Western Michigan University, John moved to Denver, Colorado, where he earned his certified public accountant license, and began his big eight accounting career. John audited companies in the telecommunications, financial and hospitality industries. He also donated time assisting with, and developing internal controls and financial reporting for the United Way and the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Foundation. During his years in Denver, John became infatuated with the magnificence of the Rocky Mountains and always knew that he would eventually return to the West.
